The Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday promised Uttar Pradesh voters 300 units of free electricity, 24/7 power supply and a waiver of outstanding bills for 38 lakh families if voted to power in the 2022 assembly election.

The Delhi-based party also vowed free electricity to all farmers in the state.

The AAP has decided to contest the 2022 polls on all 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh.

Addressing a press conference in Lucknow, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that electricity today is not a luxury but a basic necessity and it is the responsibility of every government to make it available to every citizen.

AAP has made similar promises to voters in Punjab, Uttarakhand and Goa- all due for assembly polls next year.

The party has not announced its chief ministerial candidate for UP and will contest the polls under the leadership of the party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal.
