The United States is inching closer to the grim milestone of 2,00,000 Covid-19 deaths. According to a rolling tally by Johns Hopkins University, 1,99,743 Americans have died and 68 lakh have been confirmed infected by the virus. The worrying Covid numbers come just weeks before voters decide if President Donald Trump will stay in office. The US has had the world's highest official death count for months, ahead of Brazil and India, with close to 1.4 lakh and 88,000 deaths respectively.
