The Uttarakhand High Court on Tuesday issued a show-cause notice to Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari, asking him to submit his response over non-payment of pending dues as the former CM of the hill state. The court was hearing a contempt petition against former Uttarakhand chief ministers for non-payment of dues during their tenures. In May last year, the court had ordered four former CMs including Koshiyari to pay ₹2.8 crore to the state government within 6 months for the buildings they had occupied. While Koshiyari's counsel confirmed that they will respond within four weeks, other former chief ministers Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Vijay Bahuguna, and Bhuvan Chand Khaduri have also not cleared their pending dues.
