The Tirath Singh Rawat government on Saturday announced a monthly allowance of ₹3,000 to children whose parents have died due to the coronavirus.

The Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana assures maintenance allowance till the age of 21.

Uttarakhand will invest in education and employment-relating training for such wards. A 5% horizontal reservation will be given in government jobs.

The state government has also decided to make rules to ensure that the children have the right to their ancestral property and no one can sell off the same until they become adults.
