To prevent elephants from coming into populated zones and avoid road accidents, the Terai Central Forest division will plant suitable vegetation favoured by the animals in Rudrapur.

To reduce the movement of elephants into these areas, plenty of food items along with water will be placed in the jungle. The ponds in the forest have also been prepared and will be filled from time to time.

Tactical fences have been put up in rural areas to reduce man-animal conflict.
