Former Indian captain Mohd Azharuddin has questioned the timing of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's break.
On Twitter, Azhar wrote that although there is no harm in taking a break, the timing has to be better, this just substantiates speculations about the rift, neither will be giving up the other form of cricket.

While sources say that the Test skipper has asked for a break in January for his daughter's 1st birthday, hence he might not be available for the upcoming ODI series in South Africa, BCCI hasn't confirmed the news. However, Rohit's absence from the 3-match Test series against the Proteas is confirmed. The ODI skipper suffered a hamstring injury because of which he was ruled out of the 3 match Test series.
Notably, according to reports, Virat had informed the BCCI in advance about him not being available for the ODI series and it doesn't coincide with Rohit being handed over the reins in white-ball cricket.
