Former India cricketer VVS Laxman is all set to be appointed as the head of the National Cricket Academy. The post became vacant ever since Rahul Dravid was appointed as the head coach of India's senior cricket team.
A BCCI source confirmed to India Today that the board was in constant talks with Laxman as they wanted to have someone who could take the responsibility in a better way after Dravid. BCCI had several rounds of talks with him but initially, he didn't want to join, but now he is ready, added the source. An announcement will be made soon.
Laxman is a batting consultant for Bengal in domestic cricket and is also a team mentor for Sunrises Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.
