Everybody wants a 'Slice' of this offer, a 3 day work week being offered by Bengaluru-based fintech startup Slice for new hires.
Bloomberg reports that the Slice who wants to double the current staff strength of 450 is offering a salary at 80% of the market rate. “This is the future of work," Slice Founder Rajan Bajaj 28, told Bloomberg. “People don’t want to be tied down to a job."
Globally there has been a shift towards better work-life balance and shorter work weeks. Iceland from 2015 to 2019 conducted the world's largest pilot of the four-day working week. The length was cut down from the traditional 40 hours to 35-36 hours and was a huge success. Microsoft Japan played around with the concept before the pandemic and gave all Fridays in August as "special paid leave" for its employees. The move boosted productivity by 40% and resulted in more efficient work.
