A war of words and videos erupted between Mizoram and Assam chief ministers on Twitter on Monday after fresh border violence between the two northeastern states.
Chief ministers of both the BJP ruled states publicly accused people on the other side of indulging in violence.
Mizoram CM Zoramthanga tweeted videos of violence against Mizoram people allegedly by the Assamese people and police and appealed to home minister Amit Shah to intervene.

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma hit back with his own video showing violence against Assam cops from the Mizoram side.
The public spat between the two BJP CMs came just two days after Amit Shah's visit to Northeast to mediate between the two states on the border dispute.

News agency ANI has reported that Amit Shah has spoken to both the chief ministers and asked them to resolve the border issues.
Assam and Mizoram have seen violent and frequent clashes in border areas recently.
