Admitting his side's poor play this season especially in the 2nd leg of the IPL, Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma said that MI did not play as a team this time. Despite their monumental effort against SRH, Mumbai failed to qualify for the IPL playoffs for the first time since 2018. The 5 times IPL champions who have been very consistent through the different IPL seasons could only win 7 games this season.

In the past 6 years, Rohit's men have taken home 4 titles. The failure of MI's middle order hurt the team bad who were looking to get their 3rd consecutive title. A disappointed skipper accepted his team's shortcomings and said that the team does not rely on one or two individuals' performance and went on to say that MI's hallmark is that everyone chips in, which did not happen this season.
