Jayaprakash Narayan was an Indian Independence activist, socialist and political leader. He was popularly known as JP or Lok Nayak.
In the mid 1970s, JP Narayan stood against then PM Indira Gandhi and began the JP movement as she was found guilty of violating electoral laws.
