Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off 2nd Vande Bharat train from Varanasi to New Delhi on Monday.

Features

The train has features like onboard Wi-Fi infotainment, GPS-based passenger information system, bio-vacuum toilets, diffused LED lighting, etc.

First journey

Inaugural run from Varanasi to New Delhi on December 18 at 2:15 pm. The train will cover stations being Varanasi, Kanpur, Prayagraj, and New Delhi.

Schedule

In normal operation, the train will run from Varanasi to New Delhi at 6:00 am for six days a week except Tuesday.

1st 'Saffron' launch

The Railways launched its first saffron-grey colour Vande Bharat train between Kasaragod and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala on September 24.

Why Saffron colour?

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that the choice of saffron colour is based on scientific thought for better visibility, not politics.
