Rice flour, water, salt, ghee, grated coconut, jaggery, chopped nuts, cardamom powder and nutmeg.
In 1 tsp ghee, add the grated coconut, jaggery, cardamom powder and chopped nuts. Mix well and remove from heat.
In 1 cup of water, add salt, ghee and rice flour. Cook the mixture until it forms a smooth dough. Make sure there are no lumps.
Grease your hands with ghee and form a modak shape with filling in it. You can use a modak mold for a more intricate design.
Steam the modaks for about 10-15 minutes until they become slightly translucent and firm.
Once done, let them cool for a few minutes. Your homemade Modaks are ready to be served as a delicious sweet treat for Ganesh Chaturthi.
