Rice water on the face offers skin brightening and soothing effects, acting as a natural toner and helping to maintain a healthy complexion.
Start by taking uncooked rice and wash it thoroughly under cold running water. This step is essential to eliminate impurities or surface contaminants.
Place the rinsed rice in a bowl, add approximately 2 cups of water, and let it soak for 15–30 minutes.
Once the rice has soaked, gently rub the grains between your fingers to release beneficial nutrients. Strain the rice water into a clean bowl.
For fermentation, allow the strained rice water to sit at room temperature for 24–48 hours. This enhances nutrient content of rice water.
Store the rice water in a clean, airtight container in the refrigerator. The cold temperature preserves freshness and delivers a refreshing sensation.
Apply rice water as a cleanser by applying it to your face using a cotton pad. You can also use it as a toner which helps balnacing the skin's pH.
