In the 2nd Test match of the 2-match series, West Indies registered its 1st win in Australian soil in nearly 30 years.
Shamar Joseph, who got injured yesterday, bowled a fiery spell as he took 7 Australian wickets during 4th innings of the match.
Born in the small village of Baracara, Guyana, Shamar Joseph grew up in a large family with five brothers and three sisters.
Joseph often used to play tape-ball cricket in his village and was inspired by legendary cricketers Curtly Ambrose and Courtney Walsh.
Before his rise in cricket, Joseph worked as a bodyguard to support his family, including his 2-year-old kid.
Shamar Joseph also made his Caribbean Premier League debut in 2023, playing two matches for champions Guyana Amazon Warriors.
