Shubman Gill’s woeful run in Test cricket continued as he perished for 23 against England in the first innings.
In his last 10 Test innings, Gill has managed a highest score of just 36, against South Africa in Cape Town Test.
After his last Test hundred against Australia in March 2023, Gill’s averaging only 19.22 in last 10 Test inns.
Gill has played 38 Test innings so far in his career but he’s still only averaging 30.
Ever since Gill moved to No. 3, he’s scored only 142 runs in 8 innings.
Gill earlier got away with a miscue when Ben Stokes lost the ball in the air but India’s No. 3 eventually fell to Tom Hartley in Hyderabad.
While the likes of Jaiswal and Rahul looked comfortable, Gill was constantly caught on the crease, time and again.
The likes of Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan are waiting in the wings. And when Kohli returns, Gill could well be the one making way.
