In a clear snub to LJP chief Chirag Paswan, its ally at the Centre, the ruling BJP made it clear on Wednesday that Nitish Kumar will be the chief minister of Bihar ‘whatever may be the outcome in terms of numbers’ in the state elections. Senior most BJP leader from Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi said had Chirag’s father and union minster Ram Vilas Paswan been in good health, the LJP would not have snapped ties with the BJP and JD-U in Bihar. Chirag, while announcing that his party was walking away from the alliance in Bihar but will stay with the NDA at the Centre, had said his party will form the government in the state after the elections along with the BJP but Nitish won’t be a part.
