Calling Dhoni the most popular cricketer in India, cricketing legend Sunil Gavaskar lauded Mahi's captaincy skills, after the CSK skipper yet again proved his capabilities, guiding his team to a 5-wicket victory against the Mumbai Indians on Saturday.
Comparing him to the likes of Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar, Gavaskar said Tendulkar has Mumbai and Kolkata, Kohli has Delhi and Bengaluru, but when one talks of Dhoni it's whole India.
The 71-year-old said Dhoni's results show that he is India's best captain so far. The former wicketkeeper who returned to competitive cricket after a 437-day hiatus has won all limited-overs titles, taking India to the No. 1 spot in Tests, and won 3 titles for CSK.
