With controversy hounding Joe Biden's choice for the US ambassadorship to India, the White House expressed confidence regarding the nomination.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has been chosen by the Biden administration to represent the country in India. However, his nomination is yet to be confirmed by the US Senate amid allegations that he ignored sexual harassment complaints in his office.
Republican Senators are investigating whether Garcetti knew that his deputy Chief of Staff Rick Jacobs sexually harassed city employees. Reports suggest that even Senators of Biden's Democratic party are on the fence regarding the nomination.
Garcetti has repeatedly denied the allegations.
