Amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, a car crashed into the gate of the Russian embassy in Romania, killing the driver. The incident in Romania's capital city Bucharest occurred on April 6, as per reports.

Unverified videos on social media showed a vehicle consumed by a massive fire. The crash occurred at around 6 am local time. The vehicle did not enter the compound of the embassy.

The area was subsequently cordoned off, and heavy security was deployed. It was yet to be confirmed whether the incident was an attack or an accident.

On April 5, Romania reportedly expelled 10 diplomats from the Russian embassy as a fresh penalty on Moscow for the Ukraine war.

Romania is situated next to Ukraine, and has reportedly admitted over 6 lakh refugees from the war-torn nation.
