Bangladesh airport tightens security following bomb threat

A bomb threat was reported on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight traveling from Rome, Italy, to Dhaka. 

The threat was communicated to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport through an anonymous call. 

Group Captain Kamrul Islam, the airport’s Executive Director, confirmed the incident to the media. 

He stated that flight BG-356 received the bomb threat while en route from Rome to Dhaka. 

As a result, the flight made an emergency landing at 9:20 am at Hazrat Shahjalal Airport. 

The 250 passengers and 13 crew members were safely evacuated and taken to the terminal.
