A former US official has been arrested after a video of him calling a halal food vendor in New York a terrorist surfaced online. The video shows Stuart Seldowitz, a former National Security Council adviser under Barack Obama's administration, harassing the vendor and saying that the death of 4,000 Palestinian children in Gaza wasn't enough.
Seldowitz was arrested on November 23 on preliminary charges of hate crime stalking, second-degree aggravated harassment, stalking causing fear, and stalking at employment.
Seldowitz who also worked as deputy director of the US State Department’s Office of Israel and Palestinian Affairs got into an argument with the Egyptian vendor over Israel's war on Gaza.
The video reportedly also shows Seldowitz threatening the vendor and telling him that he would use his connections to get the Egyptian secret agency to act against him and his family.
