Amid the row sorrounding BBC's star host Gary Lineker suspension, the UK broadcaster was forced to scrap much of its weekend sports programming after presenters refused to work in a show solidarity with Lineker and protest against his suspension.
According to a Hindustan Times report, several presenters, analysts and English Premier League players boycotted the airwaves on Saturday in support of Lineker.
Gary Lineker, the former England captain and host of “Match of the Day,” a popular soccer highlights show was taken off air on Friday after he criticized the government’s recent plan to tackle immigrant issue in the UK.
