A former Boeing employee who had flagged concerns about the company production standard was found dead in the United States on March 11.

The BBC quoted Charleston County officials as saying that John Barnett had died from a 'self-inflicted wound' on March 9. He was found dead in his truck in a hotel car park.

62-year-old Barnett had worked at Boeing for 32 years till his retirement in 2017 on health grounds.

The whistleblower had been involved in a lawsuit against the company and had been questioned by Boeing lawyers days before his death.
