Wildfires in Brazil's southern state of Sao Paulo have killed at least two people and 42 cities have been put on high alert. Flights were suspended, schools closed to clean up the soot and local authorities reported an increase in health care for respiratory problems.

Brazil’s Federal Police are investigating the causes of the fires in São Paulo. De Freitas says two people have been arrested on suspicion of taking part in criminal fires.
