Israeli forces demolished the house of a Palestinian man who was accused of killing a Jewish seminary student five months ago.
Israeli troops used explosives and sledgehammers to demolish the house in Silat al-Khartiyeh village on May 7. Residents in the area tried to disrupt the demolition by throwing stones and firebombs at the soldiers.
In response, the troops fired live rounds. Three Palestinians were injured in the firing and tear gas response by the Israeli forces.
Demolitions are carried out regularly by Israeli forces as punishment for attacks by Palestinians on Israelis.
The demolition of the properties of accused individuals has recently become a major flashpoint in India. The demolition of assets of accused after recent Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti clashes led to allegations of biased action in states like Madhya Pradesh and Delhi.
