A strong 'bomb cyclone' hit USA's California on 21 March 2023, knocking out electricity for tens of thousands of residents.

At least one person was killed after a tree fell onto a vehicle in Portola Valley. Central Coast and the San Francisco Bay Area suffered the brunt of the storm, as per reports.

Glass panes in skyscrapers were damaged. There were also fears of heavy rain leading to flooding in some areas.
