NASA plans to beam Earth’s location into outer space. Oxford scientists have warned that the move could lead to an inadvertent alien invasion.
The binary-coded message will contain information about the solar system, Earth’s surface and humanity to the part of the Milky way scientists feel may most likely be home to extra-terrestrial life.
The message is an updated version of Arecibo message, sent into outer space in 1974 with help of a radio telescope.

Oxford’s Future of Humanity Institute or FHI senior research fellow Anders Sandberg has alerted of the risk the move possesses. Sandberg says while the chances of the message reaching alien life was low, in case it does, the impact would be high.
