Texas school shooting: 18 children were among 21 people killed in a shooting on Tuesday at an elementary school in Texas. The suspected shooter, an 18-year-old man named Salvador Ramos also died and was believed to be killed by responding officers.
Officials confirmed that 18 children and 2 teacher were killed at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, about 85 miles west of San Antonio. Investigators say the shooter had a handgun and possibly a rifle.
President Joe Biden has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff at the White House and at all public buildings throughout the U.S. and abroad "as a mark of respect for the victims.

It was the deadliest shooting at a U.S. grade school since a gunmen killed 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut, almost a decade ago.
And it came just 10 days after a gunman in body armor killed 10 Black shoppers and workers at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, in what authorities say was a racist attack.
