In an incredibly bizarre news, a robot employed by a government firm in South Korea has, believe it or not, ‘died by suicide’.

The unnamed robot was discovered unresponsive after apparently throwing itself down a flight of stairs, according to a report by The Daily Mail on June 26.

The ‘Robot Supervisor’, appointed in August 2023, was found smashed and lying in the stairwell between the first and second floors of the Gumi City Council building.

Manufactured by Bear Robotics, a Californian startup specialising in robot waiters, the robot worked from 9 am to 6 pm and had its own civil service officer card, as reported by The Daily Mail.

The incident occurred on June 20, 2024, according to the report.
