Emperor penguins at risk of extinction due to climate change

Emperor penguins are at the risk of extinction due to climate crisis, according to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The wildlife foundation said in a recent report that 80 per cent to 100 per cent of emperor penguin colonies may disappear owing to climate crisis by 2100.

The report also highlighted raindeers among the severly threatened species by the cascading impacts of climate change.

Currently, more than 42,100 animal and plants species are categorised as endengered in the world which is over 30 per cent of all species found on the planet.
