Even as Turkey had begun to wind-up search and rescue operations after the February 6 earthquake, new tremors hit the country on 20 February 2023, causing fresh devastation.
Two earthquakes with magnitudes of 6.4 and 5.8 hit the Hatay province in the Turkey-Syria border region. At least 3 people died while more than 200 were injured in Turkey due to the fresh quakes.
The new temblors shook the region which has seen the death toll cross the 46,000-mark in recent days.
