A report by the Guardian on October 25 said that Israel has agreed to delay an expected ground invasion of Gaza on US request, so the United States gets its air defences to the region.
The news outlet citing a Wall Street Journal report said that the Pentagon is currently working to dispatch a dozen air defence systems to the region.
The move is aimed at protecting US troops deployed in Iraq, Syria, Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates from missiles and rockets.
The report further said that Israel is also focussing on ways to supply humanitarian aid to civilians inside Gaza and making diplomatic efforts to free more hostages held there.
