The Israel Defence Forces or IDF has said that Hamas militants are still entering Israel, or crossing back and forth and not all breaches of the fence have been secured yet.

The IDF Spokesperson Lt Col Richard Hecht said the events of the last three days were “a change of paradigm”.

The large-scale surprise attack by Gaza militants on Israel on October 7 has left hundreds of Israelis dead, prompting a lethal volley of retaliatory Israeli airstrikes and a formal declaration of war on October 8.

After firing thousands of rockets, militants from Gaza had entered Israel by land, sea and air, with some using paragliders at multiple locations on the fenced border.
