'Indian-Americans 1% of population, but pay 6% of taxes': US lawmaker Rich McCormick praises community

The Indian-American community received lavish praise from lawmaker Rich McCormick during his first speech in the US House of Representatives, as per news agency ANI.

The representative for 6th Congressional District of Georgia said that despite being around 1% of the American population, Indian-Americans contribute to about 6% of the taxes.

McCormick added that 1 out of every 5 doctors in his community is of Indian origin. "They represent some of the best citizens we have in America," the lawmaker said.
