A top Iranian commander renewed vows to retaliate against Israel for the killing of Hamas' top political leader Ismail Haniyeh.
General Mohammad Bagheri, Iran's armed forces joint chief of staff, said what happened in Tehran and the Zionist regime cowardly assassinated martyr Ismail Haniyeh is not something that could be forgotten.
Retaliation for this crime, whether by the axis of resistance or by Iran is certain. Bagheri said Iran will decide the time and quality for retaliation itself.
Iran, blaming Israel for the death of Hamas' top political leader in Tehran, has pledged to "punish" Israel, raising fears of a wider conflict in the region.
