Facing backlash over its direct attack on Israel, Iran's foreign minister has said the country had only planned a 'limited' attack and that US was informed in advance.
In a meeting with envoys in Tehran on Sunday, Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said it had informed the US that its attacks against Israel will be limited and for self-defence.
Iran seeks to curb retaliation after it launched several suicide drones and missiles at Israel.
Tehran warned earlier of a larger counterattack if Israel struch its territory.
