An Israeli strike killed at least seven aid workers in Gaza on Monday.

The workers of the World Central Kitchen were delivering food when the strike occurred. Following the incident, the charity had to suspend its operations in Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has acknowledged that innocent people were killed in the strike which he called unintentional.

In a statement on Tuesday, he said: “Unfortunately over the last day there was a tragic incident of an unintended strike of our forces on innocent people in the Gaza Strip.” He says officials are “checking this thoroughly” and “will do everything for this not to happen again”.

Meanwhile, the Israeli offensive continues in the besieged territory.
