Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kyiv on August 23rd, where he will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Modi was welcomed by representatives of the Indian diaspora on arrival.
India and Ukraine said the visit will focus on boosting economic ties and cooperation in defense, science and technology.
The Kyiv outreach comes a month and a half after Zelenskyy hit out at Modi over a Moscow visit in July. The Indian PM faced criticism for hugging Putin on the day Russian missiles killed scores of people across Ukraine.
