After a powerful temblor jolted Nepal on Tuesday after at around 2.51 p.m., successive earthquakes have led to panic among residents.
As per NDTV, Nepal was first hit by an earthquake of 4.6 magnitude was recorded at 2:25 p.m.
Next, it was jolted by a relatively stronger earthquake of magnitude 6.2 at 2:51 p.m. in Bajhang district.
The tremors of this quake were felt across states in north India, including Uttarakhand and Delhi-NCR.
The country was then rocked by two aftershocks at the magnitude of 3.6 at 3:06 PM and magnitude 3.1 at 3:19 PM.
Minor structural damage was reported from a rural area in Nepal, however, no loss of life has been reported.
Citing the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, the Kathmandu Post newspaper reported that the first earthquake measuring 5.3 magnitude was recorded at 2:40 p.m. and another 6.3 magnitude quake at 3:06 p.m. in Bajhang district.
Tremors were felt in Kathmandu and neighbouring India.
