A total solar eclipse crossed North America on April 8, darkening skies in Mexico, the United States and Canada.

The rare event was witnessed in the US after seven year.

The moon lined up perfectly between the Earth and the sun over the South Pacific.

With the launch of three rockets, NASA is aiming to study the effects of the eclipse on the Earth’s upper atmosphere.

The eclipse was not visible in India.
