On camera: Ukrainian couple separated by war marry in Lviv

A couple separated by the war in Ukraine have reuinted to get married in the city of Lviv on Sunday.

Kostyantyn Polischuk and his partner Halyna were separated from each other when the Russian invasion started in February, when 41-year-old Kostyantyn volunteered with the Ukrainian armed forces and went to the front, and 47-year-old Halyna left Kyiv as a refugee to Germany.

Weeks later Kostyantyn and Halyna celebrated their wedding by having a photoshoot session on the streets of downtown Lviv.

"We've gotten married yesterday and tomorrow I'm going to go back. I'm going to defend my country. Halyna will stay in a safe place," said Kostyantyn.

His wife Halyna said that she is proud of him as he is defending his country "We all are waiting for him to come back with victory."

But she could not hide her fears, adding: "I am praying every day for him."

According to the UN's human rights organisation in the first five weeks of the conflict more than four million refugees from Ukraine crossed borders into neighbouring countries, and many more have been forced to move inside the country.
