The first flight carrying 212 Indian nationals from Israel arrived at Delhi airport in the morning of October 13.
India is bringing back its citizens stuck in the Middle Eastern country under Operation Ajay. The government is bearing the cost of their return.
"Operation Ajay gets underway. 212 citizens onboard the flight are enroute New Delhi," External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said in a post on X.
"The first flight of Operation Ajay carrying 212 Indian nationals has departed from Tel Aviv to Delhi. The Indian embassy in Israel wishes everyone on board a safe journey," the Indian mission posted on X.
This comes after a war broke out between Israel and Hamas following an attack by the militants on the country. The Benjamin Netanyahu-led administration has continued to bomb Gaza over the last few days. Thousands of people have been killed so far.
