United Nations experts on 16 January 2023 expressed concern regarding the rise in cases of alleged abduction, forced marriage, and conversion of underage girls and young women from minority communities in Pakistan.

The UN experts also highlighted the alleged involvement of security forces and justice system in the forced conversions and marriages.
