Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas refused to hold a conversation with Joe Biden during the US President's Israel visit earlier this week, the Times of Israel said citing reports by Kan public broadcaster.

The Biden administration officials tried to facilitate a phone call between the two leaders, however, Abbas refused the request, Kan public broadcaster said citing sources familiar with the matter.

It is worth noting that Joe Biden has backed Israel's fight against Hamas during his recent visit to the nation.

Meanwhile, Abbas, who was expected to meet with Biden and Arab leaders at a summit in Jordan earlier this week, cancelled the meeting.
