Pakistan's Peshawar city is emerging as the epicentre of the new mpox virus strain.
A 47-year-old man, who returned from the Gulf region, is the latest to test positive, raising concerns about spread from Middle Eastern travellers.
This is the fifth mpox case in Pakistan this year, and the fourth since the WHO declared it a global health emergency.
Federal Director General of Health, Dr Shabana Saleem, says Peshawar's trend is alarming and efforts are being doubled to prevent further spread.
Authorities have ramped up measures to contain the virus, with stringent screening protocols now enforced at all airports.
