Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 27 said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is 'willing to do his utmost' to mediate the Russian-Ukraine issue by 'peaceful means'.
Putin's statement came in a meeting with the Indian External Affairs Minister Jaishankar who is on five-day visit to the Kremlin.
Putin said that Modi's stance on international issues including Ukraine is clear to Russia and the Kremlin has said it many times.
Putin during the meeting commended India's stance and expressed his gratitude for the progressing relationship between the two countries amid the ongoing Ukraine war.
During the meeting, Putin also expressed his eagerness for PM Modi's visit to Kremlin to discuss many pressing global developments and to strengthen the India-Russian relationship.
