Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv on 23rd of Aug.
Modi and Zelenskyy hugged and shook hands as they met at the Martyrologist Exposition in the Ukrainian capital.
Modi became the first Indian prime minister to visit Ukraine since the country gained independence in 1991.
Apart from economic ties and cooperation in defence, Modi is also expected to hold talks around the Russia war with Zelenskyy.
Modi arrived in Kyiv from Poland onboard a 'Rail Force One' train that took around 10 hours to reach the capital.
The PM’s Ukraine visit comes nearly six weeks after his high-profile trip to Russia during which he held extensive talks with President Vladimir Putin.
