The Israeli military says two rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip early on Friday and intercepted by its Iron Dome missile defence system.
The rocket launch came amid soaring tensions after an Israeli raid in the occupied West Bank killed nine Palestinians, including at least seven militants and a 61-year-old woman.
It was the first Gaza rocket attack since Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu returned to power at the head of a far-right government that has pledged a tough line against Palestinian militants.
