Russia has detained an American journalist in Yekaterinburg on spying allegations, state media reported.
Moscow's Federal Security Service (FSS) in a statement confirmed about the detention of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich saying that the scribe is suspected of espionage in the interests of the American government.
The statement claimed that the American reporter gathered data on an enterprise of the Russian military-industrial complex.
Soon after Gershkovich Evan's detention, FSB said it stopped the illegal activities by the Wall Street correspondent of the Moscow bureau.
